Sunday Draft (2 - 6 - 11) Superheroes

What better day to do a fantasy draft about superheroes than Super Bowl Sunday (get it? SUPERheroes? SUPER Bowl? How am I not getting paid to come up with this stuff?)
The task here is quite simple. Four teams need to pick four superheroes that will defend the Earth from any threat. One of the four superheroes needs to be a female. Draft is done snake style (first team picking in 1st round picks last in 2nd round). You can mock my choices, or make fun of me for heroes I left out, in the comments section.

1-1. Superman
The trust fund child of superheroes, this guy can do it all. As obvious a #1 pick as there will be in any Sunday draft.
1-2. Spiderman
#2 is where it gets a little tricky. My heart was saying Batman, but my brain was saying you need a guy with a little more super power as your first round selection. In retrospect, with some of the guys and gals that came off the board in later rounds, I should’ve just taken Batman here. Oh well.
1-3. Wonder Woman
It’s my humble opinion that Wonder Woman is not only the greatest female superhero of all-time, but also worthy of a first round selection in this draft.
1-4. Batman
Batman is a steal at #4. Sure he’s just a dude with a bunch of fancy gadgets, but no one does it better than him.
2-5. Captain Marvel
For those of you not up to date on Captain Marvel, he was basically a mirror image of Superman who was the most popular superhero on the planet back in the 1940s. DC Comics sued Marvel for copyright infringement, and the character was shelved in 1953 for almost two decades. To make a long story short, this guy is basically a shameless rip-off of Superman who has very similar powers, and we’re getting him in the 2nd round. He’s the perfect compliment to Batman.
2-6. The Hulk
If Hulk starts going bonkers and destroying everything, Wonder Woman can just lasso him to get him back in line.
2-7. Wolverine
Wolverine was in the discussion as early as pick #2, but somehow slipped to #7. It’s good to put some muscle with Spiderman (as long as Wolverine’s claws don’t slice Spidey’s webs).
2-8. Storm
Might be a little high, but giving Superman someone who can control the weather will be a valuable asset.
3-9. Iron Man
Unlike Wolverine, who was discussed at each pick until he was finally chosen at #7, I completely forget about Iron Man until I was thinking of someone at pick #9. It was an egregious oversight on my part, but a steal for Team Superman. What bad guy couldn’t be fought by these two guys?
3-10. The Green Lantern
We needed some mystical powers to pair with Wolverine and Spiderman. I’m not a big Green Lantern fan by any stretch of the imagination, but he fits the bill with that ring of his.
3-11. Captain America
Captain America and Wonder Woman together makes sense. They can chase down Osama Bin Laden.
3-12. Elektra
If nothing else, Batman can make out with her while Captain Marvel is doing all of the work.
4-13. The Flash
I’m not crazy about Flash, but he’s a good guy to round out the fourth team.
4-14. Cyclops
Not sure if he’s the best option at this point, but his skill (shooting lasers out of his eyes and stuff) is a good compliment to the Hulk (who is super strong and breaks stuff and more stuff and stuff).
4-15. Supergirl
I forgot all about Supergirl. This pick is a steal. You fill the last spot (where you had to take a female hero) and get someone who is almost as powerful as Superman.
4-16. Daredevil
That terrible movie with Ben Affleck put a bit of a stink on Daredevil. Hopefully someday the character will get the treatment Hulk got (where they made a terrible movie, quickly realized it was terrible, and then 2 years later made a new one while acting like the first one never happened).

Team 1: Superman, Storm, Iron Man, Daredevil
Team 2: Spiderman, Wolverine, Green Lantern, Supergirl
Team 3: Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Captain America, Cyclops
Team 4: Batman, Captain Marvel, Elektra, The Flash
